Birding at Rueter-Hess

Are you interested in going on a birding tour to add to the list of inventoried birds, wildlife and plant life?

Click here to be included in the next tour.    Current tours are organized through PWSD and the Denver Field Ornithologists (DFO) - this is a limited group, but they are always looking for new people to join in!

Bird sightings have been added to "ebird". This is a citizen science project of Cornell University to track/report bird sightings all over the globe. For Douglas County, Rueter-Hess Reservoir (Restricted Access) is listed as a "hotspot". This means that a large number of birds have been reported from that location to ebird. Currently 193 species have been documented.    Bar charts are provided which show frequency and time of year the species have been seen, as well as a wealth of additional information.
